Lawn & Garden -- NOT!!!

Well, it took a bit, but I finally got a battery that doesn't say KMart Lawn & Garden. It's a GS (who bought out Yuasa) Here's pictures of the battery, and of the box.

1) the battery post do need some minor filing to properly fit the original battery clamps.
2) The original cover, an S600 specific part, has to be modified since the posts are about 3mm taller than the original,
3) Note that the posts are swapped front to back.

The pictures show the correct part number for the GS battery. DO NOT get the battery with the (S) as that indicates a "standard" size battery post, not the smaller one you need.

More Before & After

Had the wheels powder coated, and mounted Kumho 758 155/80 R13 tires
to replace the tires that few miles but ozone cracking down to the cord.

Right front wishbone all cleaned up, and new Koni Shocks mounted.

Before and After

Thought of converting it to rear engine....
but couldn't get things aligned ;-0

Sure hope I've got that oil leak fixed....

The original front wheel bearing inner seal mounted on the collar over
the spindle, but we were unable to find this unusual seal. We had a new
collar made without the notches, to provide a good sealing surface.
The new seal mounts in the hub.

It's an Early One!!!

Here's photos of the serial numbers. I always knew it was an early one, but didn't realy know that there were SO many parts changes along the way. There's a few purchases that will go back up on eBay.

And So It Sits........

It's here, in the garage, getting used to Washington...... and it sits.... for a while (almost 2 years, oh well). But not in too bad a shape, considering it's 42 years old. A few dings, a bit of rust, a lot of dirt.

Most of the car is original, it had been repainted once, but removing the wing mirror shows the original color.
And white was the original color of the hood badge
